Butter and blackmail

If you ask the bee
Not to buzz
It might scream
In your ears
Ask the cuckoo not to sing
And you hear
Its shrillest echoes
When birds and bees
Don’t obey
What makes you think
I’ll stay?
‘For the nobler aspects
If love, you say
Let me call it
Butter and blackmail.
